Library Refurbishment

I have closed the library - it was to be for only a week, but I will open again after Easter - so that we could do some long overdue refurbishnment.
Not only did the whole place need to be jazzed up (made happier) but the shelves needed to be re-organised.
So after lots of shifting, re-writing the design and deciding on colours, today was the first real day of new-ness.
I wanted to show you the first wall painted. This is where the Military Collection will sit.
All the walls have been the pale grey, which is pretty boring. This colour is called Monza and it is almost fire engine red. I have employed a man to prep the walls and do the bulk of the painting. Today I have been assisting by doing the cutting work - that is painting the corners and around all the fiddly bits - Ian has been doing the large scale areas by rolling.
What you see of this wall is half the length. This afternoon we had 2 coats on and it will harden over the weekend.
We have an even larger wall that will be a lovely golden yellow - watch out for that photo next week!
Now for some sewing over the weekend :)
